Understanding Crowns, Bridges & Veneers

Crowns, bridges, and veneers are restorative and cosmetic dental treatments used to strengthen teeth, replace missing teeth, and improve smile appearance. Every smile is different, which is why we customize treatment recommendations based on your oral health, goals, and comfort.

These treatments may help address:

Crowns - How is it done?

We’re proud to offer single-visit crown restoration with our state-of-the-art CEREC technology. Unlike traditional methods, CEREC allows us to take digital impressions—no more messy molds—and create a customized, all-ceramic crown in just one appointment.

How is it done?

Your visit starts with reshaping the tooth and removing any decay. We then scan the prepared tooth with a digital camera, creating a 3D model of your mouth. While you relax, we design your crown on a computer, which is then milled and glazed to perfection. The entire process is completed in about two hours, with most patients only needing 30-45 minutes of active dental work.

Bridges - How do they work?

A dental bridge is a reliable solution for filling gaps caused by missing teeth, preventing the surrounding teeth from shifting and maintaining a balanced bite. Our bridges are custom-fitted, with a false tooth anchored by crowns placed on the adjacent teeth.

How is it done?

A minimum of two visits are required. During the first visit, the surrounding teeth are prepared for crowns, and an impression is taken to create your custom bridge. You’ll receive a temporary bridge for protection. At your second visit, the temporary bridge is replaced with your permanent one, ensuring a perfect fit.

Types of Bridges:
  1. Traditional Fixed Bridge: The most common type, where porcelain crowns are placed on the surrounding teeth, with a false tooth fused between them.
  2. Cantilever Bridge: Used when there’s only one adjacent tooth, ideal for areas like the front teeth where chewing load is lighter.
  3. Resin-Bonded Bridge: Features metal bands bonded to the surrounding teeth with resin, suitable for front teeth that experience less stress.

Veneers - are they for me?

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front surface of your teeth, enhancing their appearance. They are ideal for improving the color, shape, or size of teeth that are worn, stained, or uneven.

How is it done?

Porcelain veneers typically require two visits. During the first visit, your teeth are prepared, which involves trimming a small portion of the tooth’s surface. An impression is then taken and sent to a laboratory to create your custom veneer. A temporary veneer may be placed if significant tooth structure was removed.

During the second visit, the permanent veneer is checked for fit and appearance before being bonded to your tooth.

Types of Veneers:
  1. Porcelain Veneers: Known for their durability and natural look, these veneers resist stains better and create a lifelike tooth appearance.
  2. 2. Composite Resin Veneers: These are applied directly to the teeth and are a more cost-effective option, though they may have a shorter lifespan.

FAQ About Crowns, Bridges & Veneers

How long do dental crowns last?

Yes. CEREC same-day crowns are made from durable ceramic materials designed to provide long-lasting function and natural appearance.

What is the difference between a bridge and a dental implant?

A bridge replaces missing teeth using nearby teeth for support, while a dental implant replaces the tooth root with a surgically placed implant post.

How many visits do veneers require?

Porcelain veneers typically require two visits — one for preparation and impressions and another for final placement.
